Hey I was looking through websites and reading reviews and tech write ups and so forth, im in the planning phase of coarse for my 99 gsx, im having trouble finding a direct port nitrous kit...
most of the places ive seen only make wet, or dry kits, and you just tap the hole, ect.
so, i guess my question is, is every car different and u have to make your OWN direct port setup via some tube bending and fuel/nos plumbing??
or what?
I see how people take their intake manifold out and drill holes in the runners, and i saw where one guy did that, and then bent the tubing himself, and whatever, is that what you do? or does the "direct port kit" come with something that otherwise wouldnt come in another kit? would I just buy four fogger nozzles? and a few solenoids...or....:eek7:
thanks!

-on a side note-
instead of starting another thread...
i was curious, i wasnt going to ever put nitrous on my rs bc, of coarse, its fwd, and ill spin like a record...
however i found this kit...
http://www.zex.com/Pages/84/Turbo-Equipped.aspx
so maybe that more tame kit will make good friends with my traction...
my question is, my fpr has three places with which you can tap a line, and all of them are being used...one of them is being used for a fuel pressure gauge...
so, if i WERE to install this kit, assuming id run the fuel to the nitrous via the fpr, would i just get like some sort of hub to add to one of the fpr ports, so i could plug up the fuel line AND the gauge still be used?

You could bend tubing yourself like that guy did or use SS hose. I have also seen some people just use 1 nozzel and tap it right before the TB. I have never used nitrous so Im not really sure on which way is better. 1 nozzel would deffinately be easier but if you plan on running a lot of spray DI is the best option so you know the nitrous is being distributed evenly.
And yes you will need to split your fuel line to feed fuel to the solenoid

Personaly If you have the extra money DPNI is money well spent if you are looking at a NIS. You have much more flexability, a better flow distribution in the intake runners and is fully adjustable depending ont your intake design!

well, of coarse ill start out small...play it safe.
and from the research ive done, it seems pretty safe so long as you play by the rules lol...
i dont even know what limit i wanna go for...like can someone tell me a ballpark figure of how much i prop shouldnt be going over...or an amount to shoot for...

Well, IIRC they don't recomend less then a 75 shot with Dirrect Port. I would start there if you're serrious. I had a JMFab SMIM with No2 bungs and a Zex 4cyl dirrect port nitrous injection that I never did install. Definitly get a SMIM and kit at the same time, and if you can go with the soft lines. I think with your mods your quite safe with 75-125 shot.
