Fan Connection behind Glove box

Behind the glovebox in my 95 Chevy 1500 truck is a connection that controls the fan. I had to go to a junk yard and replace it because mine burned out. I notice when I cut my fan on High and the level down from high, that connector gets extremely hot to the touch. My questions is, What is making the connector so hot? I'm afraid the other may burn out as well.

It may actually be the resistor pack that the connector plugs into that is overheating. Check and replace. Good luck!

MAKE SURE the connector is clean ,,no corrosion...and fits tightly..

if it does get too hot the connector may loose it's clamping force..

this then if good would be as mentioned the heat from the droping resistors to lower the motor speed...

also check that the air box is clean and no restrictions to the air flow...debris of leaves,,,dead rodents...etc...
