Are you a cat person or a dog person? Not only which do/would you own, but which do you like more?

I am a cat person. I say cats are better.

My wife is a dog person. She says dogs are better.

But, we have cats. And she's alergic to them. :( Someday we'll have big dogs, too. ;)

Dogs rule, cats drool...

Dogs are so friendly, and they actually obey you. I've yet to meet a cat that hasn't attacked me, I've yet to meet a dog that has attacked me. Cats never do what you want them to.

Cats seem to be able to feel when you are emotionaly down. They know when you need to have a loving rub.

But then, dogs can do that as well.

I find, that myself, I enjoy all animals.

I have 2 cats and one (pain in my @ss) dog. Okay, so the dog is still only 19 months old, but he is such a pain. Always running away, and what not. The cats, on the other hand, besides the hair balls (eww) are very affectionate and will cuddle with me when I get down. I like cats. :) Meow!

Cats are so stupid compared to dogs, all they do is lay around all day and do nothing.... atleast you can play with a dog (well more than with a cat) and you can teach them things

I'm not puttin down cats cause i don't mind them but...
Dogs rule, we have a golden retriever

I'm a dog person. Cats are decent. I don't have an urge to run them over with my car, but I am allergic so I admire from a distance. I have two dogs. One is a social hermit, the other loves everyone. :)

Dogs Rule!

I do like cats, but dogs are really friends, and cats are just enduring our presence :)

Dog: he feeds me, he takes care of me, he protects me (etc) - he must be God!
Cat: he feeds me, he takes care of me, he protects me (etc) - I must be God! :lol2:

I like both, but would have a dog.
I have a German Sherpard and they are easy to train and are good guard dogs.
I like dogs as you can take them to parks/rivers etc....take a cat and it would run away

Well said. The same goes for me. I have a dachsund (a weiner dog to the layman) and also a Miniture Pincher. Both are female. They're easier to deal with than the males. The Min Pin is hilarious. Her neck is bigger than her head. My dachsund is so much fun to play with though.

It's funny, I used to have a dog and it was a German Shepard, big son of a bitch too!! I would probably get another one as for the same reasons PM said. Good guard dogs.

Cat person here. Dogs are too much like small kids that never grow up. At least you can leave a cat alone for a couple days without having to worry about it.

BTW don't mistake a cats lazyness for stupidity. They can be tought 'tricks' but it take more patience. And learning tricks is not a sign of intelligence. You can teach anything tricks.

I actually like both, but have been more partial to cats lately because I can't have the dog(s) I REALLY want (Chow-chow or Pit bull terrier) where I live.

Plus, cat's are sooo low maintenance. And, like someone already said, they seem to know when U are down and out...

I've had 3 dogs, and only one wasn't serious trouble all the time...

1st: female Bouvier des Flanderes (big black sheep dog) used to kill skunks :apuke:

2nd: female half Chow/half German Shep... she was the best. Had the black tongue and everything. Nubian: Chow's can be REALLY pissy, though. Gotta watch em-she'd snap if you went for something that she thought was hers

3rd: male mutt (husky, collie, wookie--he sounds like one anyways) I hate this damn dog. He always runs away and he always gnaws on my hands  His only bonuses are that he can walk backwards, high 5, and say "I love you" :alien:

Cats.

I don't know people say they are useless creations. But my cat always makes me feel a little better when I am down or pissed off about something when I hold her.

I guess they are great for comforting people.

I like both I am more partial to dogs!

I have a mini winner dog(4yrs old) & his new girlfriend wich they will be having puppies nxt year she is still a little to young to be a mommy. Both mini winner's His name Browny, Her Name Pezz like the candy!

I have always had cats for as long as I remember! As of Now we have a girl kitty we found, all black!
((((((Little trick to get your wife or Girlfriend jealouse when they kitty or puppy is small/baby when you come home from work throw your sweaty shirt in there bed so when they are about to go nighty they will smell you & will be comfy + that stays in there brain as a permanent comfort smell. THIS works I did this with my wifes cat & that cat loves me to death when I am home both the dog & cat follow me every where & always want to sit or be next to me!))))))

Funny thing: When I am home on the computer the kitty sits infornt of my monitor between it & the keyboard & goes to sleep while both my dogs sleep on my feet while im on the net!:D
Kitties name Satira!

Aw, but that is the best part.

But anyhow, my cat is lazy for the most part and will sleep on your stomach for as long as you'll let her. I am gald if she wants to play to give her a little exersise, of couse Ihave no idea what she does outside.

Anyway, I wish I had a cat, but I would never declaw one! Thats like cutting your fingers off or somethin, hehe.

no it's more like painlessly and permanantly taking off somebodies nails. Not even that much, cause cats only use them for self defense (and tearing up furniture) otherwise they're not even on the outside of their bodies.

PM: I love german shepards too, they're sweet! Your's looks awesome :D

all cats i've seen were only in-house cats :)
they don't go outside, plus they always land on their feet so what does it matter?

I heard you could drop a cat from like a 50 story building and it would survive... i'm not sure about the exact number, but i think it's around there

from that high though, they land on their side and somehow they don't break any bones.. if they landed on their legs from that high, they'd break'em :)

I've owned both and am more of a dog person.

I love all animals though. :monkeypis

But dogs just have so much personality. My dog can tell what I'm thinking and can pick up on small facial expressions.

Cats are more independant. They don't give a shit about you.

I had my cats front paws declawed. After a few days of having to use ripped up newspaper as her cat litter, all was back to normal - except she couldn't shed the furniture anymore! :D

Yes gan$tarr, a 500 foot drop. Assuming the cat didn't shatter or explode upon impact at 100+ km/h I think it would die.
