cracked engine block

what are the sign and symptoms of cracked engine block?how can i diagnose the damage?pls help..thanks

Physical signs can include excessive smoking from the exhaust, coolant or oil leaks under the engine, very rough running or not running at all.
Using a compression tester, indications of low or no compression in one cylinder, or similar compression values in adjacent cylinders. A leak-down test is more definitive since leaks in the cylinders can be better pinpointed.
Of course, most or all of these symptoms can be attributed to a leaking or blown head gasket or cracked or warped head as well. You can't know for sure until you pull it apart. Post back if you have further symptoms... Hope this helps!

A lot of cracked blocks occur between the pistons. A machine shop can bore and install cylinder liners for this problem.
