Good machine shop?

Anyone know of a good machine shop in the Seattle area? Seems like I have a burnt valve in my 95 Metro 1.0L at 195,000 miles. Looking to fix it up and keep on driving it. Not looking for performance, just an honest place that will do the job for a fair price.

I have no Seattle knowledge as I'm in the other Washington, the bad one on the right side. :-) What you need is three exhaust valves, preferably stainless, and a thorough cleaning and checkout on your head. You also need new rings. A head job will increase compression and those old rings aren't going to take it.

I thought about doing a complete overhaul, but the budget isn't very flexible at this time. All this car has to do is drag my carcass to work and back on a daily basis. 30 Mile round trip, no large hills. Maybe next year when I win the lottery!
Maybe a JDM engine? What's the usual price for one of them?

I've been reading in several sources that a plugged catalytic converter is a common problem at this age for a Metro. How to test it? I don't need to ruin a new valve job.

Don't know if they are still there but there used to be a national autoparts in midway. I went to school in Des moines btw. they where always good for machine work. dont know about any mechanics because my dad was the mechanic. Or we where.

Thanks for the replies. I found a machine shop, Aussies, that will do the work at a good price. By the way I live in Des Moines.
Haven't seen a National Auto parts here. It's all NAPA, Schucks, Autozone, B&B, and G&M. G&M does good machine work but pricey.
The place in Spokane wants $175 now plus a core. Not bad but requires a long drive, 5 hours each way. I may end up in Spokane for a week this winter (work) so who knows?
Appreciate the replies, though, thanks.

I googled it because I haven't been down there in years but it looks like the Sea Diving/charter/travel shop used to be the National auto parts right there in Midway, 99 and kent-desmoines road. It looks like they moved to Federal way.

Aussies wants $130 plus parts for the valve job.
The TL SEA dive shop has been there for many years now. Didn't know it was an auto parts place before.
I Googled National Auto Parts and saw their place in Federal Way. I drive by there a couple times a week and never noticed them. Guess I should stop by and see what they offer.
