AWD how do they add up ?

I was wondering how the AWD's handle snow and bad weather ?
Reason being, Im looking at buying a totaled one for parts.
Going to make an AWD Grand AM! :naughty: :evillol:

My '02 Silhouette AWD handles great in the winter.
:confused: If you are going to try and make the Grand Am AWD, you'll need a cutting torch, a couple sledge hammers, and an arc welder. :sarcasm1:
You would have to replace the entire rear chassis section, custom fit some sort of driveshaft from the transfer case to the rear diff (the setup is not so much a standard driveshaft as it is a torque tube). And then have to figure out the electronics, since the Versatrak system is not an AWD, it is on demand as determined by wheel slip.

:lol: I am totaly aware of all the manufactoring that'll need done.
I just wanted to know how well they handled the snow.
