97 f 250hd brake shift interlock question

I have a 97 f 250 hd. Once you start it and apply the brake to put it into gear. The shifter will not move. The fuse keeps blowing for the brake shift interlock (shift solenoid) What could it be? Any help? Can I bypass this feature? Thanks for the help
