I'm back, after all i've been through, stalled out right after filling up on gas
NEW: plugs & wires, fuel pump, crank shaftposition sensor, iac, ecm, icm,
car stalled after filling up, engine cranks, but won't fire over. can't figure it out?

would a bad water pump keep your engine from turning over?

Are you getting fuel and spark?

i have fuel at the rail, put in new pump a month ago, don't seem to have spark at the coils, i think i have a bad waterpump, could it keep the engine from turning over? it stalled on me the other day after fueling up and would crank but not turn over, put nem icm and coils in and still nothing. was cranking weakly, have 12volts on the battery, now it won't crank at all. did i crank to many times with a bad waterpump and seize the motor, is this repairable?:banghead:

would a bad water pump keep your engine from turning over?NO, what are the symptoms? BTW, your new thread has been merged with your older thread.

filled up on gas the other day, as i drove away from the pump the car stalled, and would not start agaian, had crank but would not fire, got towed home. been going through this for months, and have replaced:
plugs, wires, oil filter, air filter, fuel filter, fuel pump, idle air controler, crankshaft position sensor, oxygen sensor, thermostat with coolant flush, cleaned MAF sensor, also changed ecm but got no results so returned it, put new icm in and it idled a bit better, but eventualy returned it after a while to get money back, and now i'm dead in the water although i bought another new icm figuring that was it and have nothing with the new one.
right now i have no spark, it was cranking but now it won't even crank, i'm wondering if i'm draining the battery and have no amps to crank?

With the ignition switch turned to the ON position, do you have 12v to the pink wire #839 shown below? BTW, you probably have drained your battery & need to recharge it. What is the battery voltage?

Any error codes? I know my 91 is plagued with code 41 for cam shaft position sensor. Stalled me out plenty of times.

my battery voltage is right around 12v, at the pink wire i have 11.45v, at the relay on top of the computer i have 11.45v. won't even crank now, turn the key and the dash lights go dim, so i'm taking the battery to az to check the amps. my wife also just told me last night that a while back before all this started, the steering column was smoking on day, as if something electrical had shorted out?? maybe the ignition switch?

Smoke from the steering column happens to me as well, the reply I got from AF was that it is the multifunction switch (turn signal switch) needs to be replaced. I also have to hold mine up when making right turn signal, but for left turn signal it works fine.
The smoke, as was told to me, was from an electrical arc burning dust/grease from within the steering column.

did you change the switch and it fixed it, did you change your key cylinder?

More than likely, you have a problem with the ignition switch.

i also think i have coolant issues. its not overheating as far as steaming-up or overflowing into the resivior and i'm not adding new coolant on a regular basis but the engine and whole bay area seems extremely hot, i have not tempurature gauge, just a digital dashboard, but i also don't get a dummy light either. seems as if the coolant in the radiator and hoses just sits. the waterpump pulley moves freely, took off the belt and tried to wabble the puley some as if the bearing or shaft were broken but it seems fine. when i changed the thermostat and flushed i did not use alot of rtv sealant so i know thats not an issue.:screwy:

this steering SMOKING steering column/ bad switch problem appears to be a common issue

:banghead: Anyone know how to take apart the collum on the tilt steering???:banghead:
The manual states its nearly impossible for the home mechanic. I need to check out the Ignition Switch. I think that might be the culprit.
