From Taurus to Sable Transaxle swap ?

:banghead:Hey all, I have a qustion. does anyone know if a traney out of a 1998 sable can be used in a 1999 taurus if they both are axod and all the plugs are the same, or are they differnt inside ? they have the same motor and all, why i ask is, i have axcess 2 one but cant find one for a taurus.thanks for any help.

Most parts are interchangeable between Sable and Taurus. I'm not aware of any changes to the transaxle from 1998 to 1999. If you have a friendly, helpful salvage yard nearby, you could ask them if the two years are interchangeable. You will need to make sure they are both AX4S or AX4N though, and apparently Column Shift or Floor Shift.

Thanks for the reply rod . the guy at the place that has the traney looked on his computer and it was not on the list, and it also had a floorshift and mine is on the collem, I wish i knew where to get this information.
