i am in need of some non-3000gt related advice about my recent wreck. i now have a few option of what i can do with the civic.

1) part it out
2) try to sell it whole as a parts car
3) fix it

i talked to a guy in my area who i've been buying parts off of and i could get everything i need to fix it for about $200. with the parts i could have it fixed in a weekend. but i dont know if i want to put more time and money into this POS. advice? i would post this on the honda forum but honda owners are retarded.

Unless you have a porta power and a good bit of auto body knowledge you wont have it fixed in a weekend.

There is a lot of damage there to the core support and inner fender.

really? it looked to me like i could just replace the fender, hood, bumper, windshield and the head/corner lights. do i need to fix the frame? it isnt too bad

Nothing is going to bolt on right unless you fix your inner fenders and core support.

lame. i'll remove the damaged stuff this afternoon and see what needs to be fixed. i'd probably need a shop to do it if its real bad

ok so sorry to revisit this but its still an issue. i listed the car on craigslist as a whole parts car, cuz i dont want to get rid of pieces and end up with a bunch of honda parts i cant use. i ve got a little interest (3 people) but no one has come to check it out or anything so its iffy.
Additionally, i FINALLY got my sign on bonus the other day and now have enough money to get something else. what i'm thinking is i will either get another really cheap civic and use the wrecked one for parts (it had a ton of aftermarket stuff), or continue as planned with selling the wrecked one, and buy something that isnt hella lame. i've been wanting to get my hands on a IROC camaro for ages. . .

opinions? remarks? doubts about my sanity?

Ain't nothin wrong with a good ol' 3rd gen f-body. I really miss mine even though it was a major gas hog. Just make sure you get one that is 100% free of rust if you can and then keep it that way. Mine had none when I first got it and within a few years it started a little bit on the underside and I overlooked it. Then within a year from finding it, the whole car was overtaken by it. :(

A thrid gen? Why? They are dog slow in stock form and not that good looking either in my opinion.

As for the Civic get rid of it. Take it from someone who has parted many cars, it sucks.

Mine was the 3.1 v6. Quite possibly the worst motor ever conceived by GM... Thing barely got 12mpg...

The rust ate clear through the fenders like they were nothing. I noticed one day it was bubbling under the paint and I was like shit that's no good. The next time I checked it out, it was nothing more than the paint filling a gap and it quickly fell apart... Cheap steel...

The 3.1 sucks in FWD form. Try helocoiling #2 spark plug.....

I think the FWD versions actually had a little more pep than the one in my Firebird. That or maybe just cause the car was so heavy... Either way, the motor still blows. lol...

Mine burned so much oil by the time I got rid of it. When I filled up with gas I filled up with oil too. Had to add at least 2 quarts a week. Thing smoked soooooo bad. lol

Meh, I think they are lame looking. They are the ugly step child of the F Bodies. Kinda like the Mustang 2 (74-78) is the ugly step child of the Mustangs.
