99 Lasabre stalls

161K shuts off when driving. There are a lot of these types of threads but this seems a little bit different at least. Any help would be awesome, i have been at two different mechanics now and both seem hopeless.

The check engine light goes on and off intermittently and when it comes on, the engine has a tendency to die when i am not on the gas (often coming up to lights or stop signs). Also it idles strangely. it will go from 500RPM to 2000RPM in park without me doing anything and then sometimes just dies.

But then the next day the check engine light will be off and the car will run perfectly... for about 30min or so. please help:frown:

There should be a code in history, when it stalls does it start right back up?

sorry the code is 102. the car always starts right back up but then sometimes it will just die right away unless i give it gas and try to throw it into drive. other times it starts great. I replaced the MAF but nothing changed.

Code points to mass air flow sensor or a bad connector.

any idea what connector it might be? I already replaced the mass airflow sensor and it still dies.

I definitely appreciate your help.

check and make sure you did not bend any pins on the connectors

Also has the pcv valve been replaced recently and as a side note there are some reman maf's that have been troublesome.
