Cai?

is there a difference when you buy CAI? I went on ebay and then have NO-name CAI for 35 and AEM for 175. I don't want to be spending the big money if there isn't a big difference. what does everybody have here.

personally, I always go for the cheapest...I mean come on, its a filter on a stick...one's not going to make that much of a difference .

if anything...its the filter that makes the difference...by a cheap setup and get a k&n cone filter.

That is the way to go!! or you can make your own? Also very cheap and it is the samething as the aem one.

If you can get one that has the same length or dimensions as AEM, I'd go for that...believe it or not but my tuner dyno tuned an NA motor with different length CAI...they prepared about 6 different ones and ran it on the dyno machine and the full length that AEM has performed best. I guess AEM did their own R&D and came out with a good product.

They are all the same, I went with a no name SRI off ebay for $30 shipped rather than get the AEM just cause its carb numbered :rolleyes: seriously it aint that hard to change your shit back to stock for smog purposes.

One of the main reason that AEM is better to most people is in the piping that they use. Most cheap intakes use a 3" pipe. AEM uses 2.5" pipe with is suspose to be much better on most D and B series motors, The 3" they keep to H series. I would go to www.teamdelsol.com and go under the how-to's and go order the pipe that they use. Cheap and effective.

If you'd pay more closely to my reply Melt...i said, same as AEM length and not AEM...I agree with getting the cheapest available as long as you dont sacrifice performance. FYI, replacing your CAI with a non-CARB legal tube is the same as taking your catalytic converter out. Risk involve is getting pulled over and getting a ticket or car impounded.
