1994 Mustang GT 5.0 (105k miles) AODE is dropping out of gear from time to time and is becoming more often. I figure a rebuild is in my future. I have few questions:
1. Name of a good rebuild kit
2. Hard part fixes I may need based on the symptom
3. Particular parts I may want to upgrade as long as I got it apart
4. May possibly put a shift kit in at the same time.
Looking primarily to put together a dependable trans that will last at least another 50k miles. Secondary is making it more rugged and maybe tightening up the shifts a bit. Hoping to get it all done in a weekend.
also I've never done a 1994 mustang trans before so any advice from those that have will be taken to heart and used.
Appreciate any help. thanks

Well:
The AODE is not that bad of a tyranny to deal with. Contrary to popular belief just slamming in a sift kit or drilling out a few ports is a bad thing to do. B&M sells a electronic shift kit that I would stay away from unless I had AAA do a rebuild in the first place. ( a pain but a free rebuild after I removed the E shift kit) Upgrade the entire tyranny. Some of your DIY and generic shift kits will not take care of the slow down shifts. They will make the nice squawk on the tires when you are at WOT, but that will not help your clutches last any longer If I was you I would get the entire up grade kit from either B&M or Transgo.. Personally I would stay away from the electronic assist type that does work well but does not up grade the clutches
Like I said B&M and transgo sell entire kits that are about the same and have every upgrade you will need
