I had my A/C recharged about 6-7 weeks ago now it is blowing hot air. Before getting it charged it did blow some what cool air but not cold. This is a '01 GP SE 3.1 with 120,000 on it. I have never had to have it charged up before this year. There is no noticable noise coming from the compressor. Any help is appreciated.

You should see the clutch engage if it doesn't it sound like you have a leak in the system. The reason the compressor will not run is that there a pressure sensor. If there is no freon or it is very low the pressure sensor will not allow the compressor to run.

Without knowing any more or doing any testing whatsoever, I will say that a classic failure mode is the compressor's shaft seal wearing out and slowly leaking down....especially with increasing mileage without any other past issues.

It turns out that it was the "head unit". ( the one with the fan settings as well as the A/C, and heat settings. ) The mechanic told me that it was not telling the A/C to shut off, I.E. the light was always lit up even if you pushed the button to turn it off. It still had plenty of freon in it I was told. If anyone knows for a fact that this could not have been the problem let me know!
