Gas Pump Problems?

2005 Malibu, the gas pedal will not work, the car stops and I have to turn it off and the start it again and the pedal will work again, seems like the gas is not getting to the motor or something like that.

You might be having a problem with the electronic throttle-by-wire system. The fact that if you switch the car off and then on again and then it works looks as if you are resetting the computer. Just a shot in the dark though.
