I have a 99 S-10 with a 2.2 l. engine, and 2wd. I don't know how to change the valve cover gasket. I found one visible bolt, but when I pulled it off, the plastic cover wouldn't budge. So, there is more holding it down than just the one bolt. Does anyone know how to change the valve cover gasket?

Just oner bolt will not do it.:sarcasm1:
Remove stuff over/oo top of cover and find and remove all of the bolts.
Go all of the way around the edge of it and yoiun will see them.
Good luck and let us know how it goes.

Thanks. This is the newest vehicle I've ever owned. Before it was a collection of Caravans of 80's vintage. Of those, the most fun and the strangest was an 84 Caravan. It was fun and strange because it had a 5 speed. I never knew that Dodge built the minivan with a manual transmisssion, and the shop I took it to didn't believe it. They told me that I had the only one in the entire state with a 5 speed. Eventually, it died. But, since I paid only 200 bucks for it, I guess I got my money's worth.

You are welcome.
The 2.2 4 cyl is always a little different/harder to work on.
Good luck and let us know how it goes.

Thanks. I'm more comfy when working on a CurtissWright 1820 or a Pratt and Whitney R-985 than I am with something as modern as my little S-10. But then, a DC3 is pretty easy to work on.
