I have a message on my instrument cluster of my 2001 Lesabre Limited that warns of low tire pressure and then shows exp 139 and exp 144. Does anyone know what these 2 codes are related to or mean?

How were these codes read, I see no such codes in the pcm as you have listed them?

These appear in the driver's information console of the dash.

If the tires are ok hit the reset see what happens.

I will mention one thing about the tire pressure codes.

They have been 100% bang on every single time correct for me and I have needed to get my tires patched. 3 times now. (I built a new house therefore I hit alot of nails.)

My recommendation is go check your tires in the morning. You will likely have a flat. The procedure to get rid of the codes is to reset your system and that is by going to the tire pressure menu and press and hold reset until it says tire pressure normal. This procedure should be listed in your owners manual.

This message came on about a week ago. I checked my tires and they are 29.5, 31.5, 32.5 and 30.5 psi. I try to maintain 32 psi so I wouldn't say they are too bad nor anywhere close to flat. I plan on filling them all to 32 psi, reset the low tire pressure warning and keep a watch on the pressures. Does anyone know what exp 139 and exp 144 means specifically?

I have tried googling that code and come up empty.

Maybe a very slow leak? When my code went off my tires didn't look like they were flat but they did indeed become flat.

So I'm guessing that the sensor is very sensitive to any and all changes of tire pressure.

As for the codes I don't think they were ever meant to be read by mechanic or anything. Any time something beeps from that console it throws a type of code that I assume corrosponds to what it is telling you.

for example. when I leave my turn signal on for to long the car will ding and a EXP code will show up and then it will say turn signal is on.

- same for door ajar

- same for oil change

- same for tire pressure.

In other words nothing really scary comes from those exp codes.

Remember there is no actual tire pressure sensor on this car, it uses the wheel speed sensors to determine tire rolling circumfrance, hence tire pressure losses.

yes actually as I was typing that I knew I shouldn't have said that. But I didn't know actually how it did work. I was being to lazy to be accurate.

Thanks Maxwedge
