99 v6 solara

My girlfriend has a 99 solara and it has a rough idle... and comes up with some egr codes the guy at the parts store said to try cleaning it.. however when i removed it there was no filters to clean can someone direct me more specifically... thanks

No filters for EGR. You can spray throttle body cleaner in the tubed area to clean out some carbon and see if that works. My take is the car needs a total throttle body cleaning with a new EGR. RockAuto.com has them for under $200.
