Just a quick question, what clear should i use over cobra colors.
I know its a laquer, so i was thinking maybe dupli-color or tamiya ts?
Any clears that give problems?
Thanks
Mark

You can put any type clear you want to over it...it's automotive lacquer which will withstand most anything.

Most people use either lacquer-type clearcoat like Tamiya TS13 or an automotive urethane clear.
The lacquer is a one-part clear that's available in spray cans. It's the easiest to use. For quality and price, you can't beat U-POL. It's similar to Tamiya TS13. You can mail order it from Sam Ditchek & Sons http://yhst-13811118617756.stores.yahoo.net/uppocanae.html
Automotive urethane has a deeper, glossier finish, but it's more complicated to use. You need an airbrush to apply it. You'll need a two-part pack - coating plus hardener. AFAIK, the only place to get small quantities is Hiroboy http://www.hiroboy.com/catalog/product_info.php?cPath=48_76&products_id=2681.
I personally prefer lacquer. It's shiny, but not show-car deep. Depends on what you like and what kind of car you're painting.

you can also check out Alsacorp.com they have a 2k clear that comes in a spray can, but if you don't use the whole can the rest will go bad after the two parts are mixed. so be ready to spray all your clear at one time. you can probably do several bodies at once if you had them ready. I think thats the web site if not google alsa corp.
