It has been several years since I have finished a model, and even then it was mostly aircraft kits I worked on. So I just wanted to share my completed project of the Tamiya YZR-M1 in the 2005 season colors with the help of Tamiya paints and Crazy Modeler decals. Pretty well straight from the box build. Final clear coat was using Future floor wax.
Thanks for viewing.

looks nice and clean. i like the chain detail...that always gives me the most trouble. what color did you use on the cowlings? it looks a bit dark to me, but by no means am i a paint color expert!

I used TS-51 and I will agree with you it may seem a bit dark. I used it because I believe it was the recommended color their 04 bike. The chain was painted with Tamiya recommended paints but with a black wash to give it some depth. I am having a hard time parting with $40 just for a chain detail set.
My next YZR I hope to build using the TopStudioHobby detail set which is on it's way.
It had been such a long break in building for me, I just had to do one a bit more straight from the box just to brush up on my skills.

I am having a hard time parting with $40 just for a chain detail set. I agree 100%. I had ordered a cheap-o little 16 dollar chain set from Hiroboy a while back and it was a waste of time and money.
