I just wanted to share a solution with the board: I have a 1997 Park Ave which began missing under load. A new set of spark plug wires solved the problem. Interestingly I replaced the wires when I got the car about 80,000 miles ago. I guess 80,000 miles is the lifesoan for plug wires. I used Bisch wires from Autozone.

Thank's for the feedback,80k is not bad for wires, did you get that with the Bosch or did you replace them with Bosch? The reason I ask is because GM engines like Delco but if you got 80k with Bosch that's not bad.

Yes, when I installed new wires 80k miles ago I used Bosch which I bought at Autozone. I also used Bosch today when I replaced the wires. The wire set was only $27.99. Another interesting thing was that the missing problem happened suddenly, it did not occur gradually.

I was thinking of buying GM wires but I needed to solve the problem asap and if I bought GM wires at the Buck Stealership down the street I probably would have paid twice as much as the Bosch wires.

You can purchase ACDelco wires @ Advance-O'Reilly for 47-bucks a set; however, if you got 80K out of the Bosch "China wires" that's not bad!

Surprisingly the Box for the Bosch wires says "made in USA". The only reason I bought them is because I got so many miles from the set I bought a couple of years ago. I think they ok considering the cost.
