Hi All! I'm helping a coworker fix her Power Windows in a 98 Nissan Sentra. It sounds like the switches have worn out. I just need to figure out any hidden screws or special tricks to removing the door panel so I don't have any surprises (broken snaps for example) when it comes time to make the repair!

no tricks, just basic common sense. remove all screws you can see/find. usually in the door handle pocket, or underneath an armrest, just look around. then start by pulling (gently) outward, from the bottom of door panel, working your way around to the sides. there are plastic buttons called "christmas trees" that push in and out of the holes in the door metal. you don't want to rip and tear at the panel, in hopes of re-using these plastic "trees". from my experience, you can usually pop the panels off a couple of times before you need new ones. keep an eye out for any screws you may have missed, usually indicated by an especially stubborn spot of the panel that refuses to pull apart. a long, flat "wonder bar" can come in handy in un-seating the buttons. keep in mind, auto manufacturers like for everything to snap together, so your job is to un-snap it without doing any damage in the process. even if you break a couple, space out what you can re-use, to hold the panel on, when you put it back together. most part stores carry packs of the different size buttons. a roll of double-sided tape can help in holding the dust/water shield back on, if you removed it.
