Who in your opinion would win

The 240sx:
RB25DET
AfterDark intake

vs

The Eclipse GSX:
syclone motor
t4 turbo
100shot nos
stage 3 clutch
(all the mods this person listed)

IMO the 240 would easily destroy, but someone I was talking to thinks other wise.

Im thinkin 300hp in the 240sx vs 300+hp in the DSM. Im thinking the dsm would win because AWD+heavy duty clutch = very fast launches.

as much as i hate to say it i would also go with the gsx because ita awd better launches the 240sx will peel lotz of tires but it would be close tho..

wow really? even with the skyline motor, i never thought of eclipses as "that" fast

gsx= awd turbo 4clyd
with modifications like intake\exaust\intercoller\b.o.v.\n boost controller\fuel pump\ clutch and flywheel\and better ignition and u have a mid-low 12sec car if not better

the 240sx peels tires alot if u dont equipet it with a l.s.d but an rb25det powered 240sx is 1 badd ass car the 1 described in this post was lightl modifyed but if u modify the rb25det it will run fast!

please dont flame me for my taughts its only my opinion u can like it or hate it just please dont flame!

exactly. take those 2 cars onto a road course and the 240SX would show supreme 0wnage. this thread sort of belongs in the car comparisons forum...but oh well.

240SX w/RB25DET w/bolt ons will still have trouble getting into the 12's b/c of traction problems...

So if it could hook up...you are looking at low 13's high 12's...if it could hook

What about a longer run, like 1-2 mile run?

Well w/similar power mods the RB would win due to better top end...and the displacement factor...

i think the weight diffrence would contribute to the 240 alot!?!?

...but then again power ratings are bout the same with the RB mostly on top, i think its a Drivers race on this one, a good launch on the 240 is all you need...

Why swap a Syclone anyways....?? Eclipse and Lancer both use 4G63, just with diff. turbine and internals.

Its like swapping a blacktop S13 for an S13...waste of cash...

i dont know about the gsx's, but i beat a gs turbo from a 35mph roll up to 90mph. about one car length faster...

and i dont even have a turbo.. i have an old sohc kad4e

i also just killed a 5 series beamer with a body kit on the hiway. he had no chance once i hit 100.

if you give the 240 an lsd and bigger injectors, mabye a FMIC, no contest. but as is, it'd be a close race.

My buddy handled a a 525i with his dead stock old-ass Benz S-Class

Those cars are weak...

yea the 525's are weak.. this was a 530i so it had some power. it also had an exhaust but im not sure what else was done to it.

if i was racing a 525i it would been over in about 1.5 sec. those things are like older camaros, very weak.

i want to get really big injectors on my car.. next mod... anyone know of some good cheap big ones? i think it would run good with the fuel pump.

RB25DET will kill a GSX... in the long run..... even in the 1/4. If you have a shitty 240 driver and a good gsx driver all thats going to happen is the GSX will grab a couple car lengths off the line...... after that its all over.... and god Id hate to see how a modded RB25DET pulls in higher gears LOL....

240 all the way, the gsx wouldnt stand a chance. 240 is light and with a nice engine in it it's a beast.

Which model of gsx are we talking about the 1 gen or 2? the 1 gen. will kill a 240.
