Need help finding bypass instructions

I had found the bypass instructions to disconnect the wiring on a Grand Am due to passlock problems. I had located the link on the internet days ago but now I can't find it. If someone knows where that was please let me know. It had a particular thread number I think.
I have had that passlock, non starting problem for over 6 months. I had the sensor replaced at the dealership and it is still not fixed. I want to direct a mechanic to yank the wires out! I need help. I think it was a yellow wire!! I want to print the diagrams off from this link in color for my mechanic. Grandamowner05mari

Have you tried a security relearn ??
And what sensor was replaced by the stealership ?

It is a 2005 model Grand Am. And Yes I have been trying the relearn steps. I just am tired of the aggravation. I found directions on how to bypass the passlock by cutting some wires but I don't have the 'thread number' of the link handy.

oh I don't remember the name of the part they replaced on my car but it was about 2 to 3 hundred dollars for it. They thought new keys would work too, but it didn't. Our keys have no chip in it anyway. It was some type of sensor that was supposed to fix the security light problem and the non - starting issues. I spent 500.00 on it, this is not fixing it.

Well I called the dealership and I was told that they replaced the ignition lock cylinder in my car. I was wrong it was not a sensor that was replaced at the dealership. I had it done in April 09 and it is still doing the same thing.

Ok, try this security relearn, this is not the one mentioned in the cars manual.

Security relearn procedure:

1) Attempt to start the car by turning the key to the Start/Run Position.
2) Observe that the vehicle fails to start and that the security light is illuminated.
3) Release key to the 'ON/Accessory' Position. (DO NOT turn key to the 'off' position.)
4) Allow the vehicle to sit with the key in the 'ON/Accessory' Position for no less than 11 minutes.
5) Turn key to off position and allow the vehicle to remain in the 'OFF' position for no less than 30 seconds.
6) Repeat #1 - #5 for 3 cycles.
7) On 4th attempt, car should start.

NOTE : Since this is a fairly long procedure, I would limit all electrical sources, such as disconnecting headlights, to prevent discharge of battery.

NOTE 2 : It is SAFE to wait LONGER than the allotted time, but it is not safe to wait less time. I.e. 12 minutes instead of 11 minutes should be safe; however, waiting 10 minutes instead of 11 minutes is not safe.

Properly executed, this procedure should take approximately 35 minutes to complete

I'd suspect its your ignition switch that was bad and not just the lock cylinder. :2cents:

Got your message. Supposedly my ignition switch was checked and it was fine. I thought that could have been a problem also. I won't be able to look at the passlock disable information you sent yesterday, today, but if you get a chance to check out the let me know if it is basically the same information. Thanks for the assistance.

Yeah the second link i posted is a little better then that grand am specific you posted. I didnt like it because their are to many decisions to make and sounds complicated when its not realy, but it has a few pics and those are good to have.

Only reason I dont recommend this is you can go thru all that stuff and still the security light will be on , and or it may not ever start untill the dealer fixes it. :2cents:

I know Ive said this a 1000 times, but if your keychain has a bunch of stuff hanging on it, this will cause your secruity light to come on and or a no start situation.

Also my 99 GA SE has over 200k miles on the factory ignition switch. At 65k miles my wife used to have these same issues, no start and secruity light on or flashing. After I removed the excess stuff from the keychain it never happend again.
