83 Chevy S-10 2.8 Check Engine Light

:mad: Hi i have an 1983 Chevy S-10 4x4 with 2.8 . Check Engine light does not work. Went to parts store bought new bulb and replaced still does not work. Everything like turn signals, emergency brake, choke light they all work. Does any body have any ideas. Thanks Bob

If this is a carb engine it might not need a check engine light. I thought those were for computer cars. Several 83 S-10s came out without a computer. I had one. It may have never been functional.

yeah its a carb engine and on dash in middle i can see check engine light symbol but it never lites up.
