I have a 2002 s-10 crew cab with the 4.3 ok when I lock the doors with the button in the truck at some point the alarm will start going off without anyone or any thing messing with it. If I use the remote no problems. Is there a way to recalibrate this? My remote has now quit working so now I cant lock my doors any help would be appreciated

SOunds like you could have BCM (body control module) issues. You should have it scanned by someone with an advanced scanner and see if there are problems with the system.

Is this a factory installed security system or aftermarket?

Does the orange "security" light in the instrument cluster come on when you initially turn the ignition to the RUN position??

Did you try a new battery in the remote?
Check the Blazer "How To" section for programming the security system and passlock systems.

Yes just replaced the battery and it will unlock (most of the time) and will not lock the doors.

Have you tried taking the remote apart and cleaning the contacts inside? Advance Auto Parts has a display rack by their front counter that checks the operation of the remote. That would at least tell if the remote is at fault or if the problem is in the vehicle.

Yes cleaned it all up. Now that you mention the display at advanced I remeber seeing it I will check that out. Tried resetting by turning key to on for 10 mins. Worked briefly then quit again.

You might try to synchronize the transmitter first, here's how:
Simultaneously hold the LOCK and UNLOCK buttons on the transmitter for 7 seconds. The door locks should cycle to confirm synchronization.
If that doesn't work, try programming the RKE (Remote Keyless Entry) module, here's how: When you program it, you are assigning the remote transmitter to the RKE module. This is why you must program each new transmitter.
*When you program a transmitter, it will erase all previously programmed remote transmitters*
Close all of the vehicle doors.
Insert the ignition key into the ignition lock cylinder.
Press and hold the door unlock switch on the door panel.
Cycle the ignition ON, OFF, ON, OFF.
Release the door unlock switch.
The doors will lock, then unlock confirming the receiver is in the programming mode.
Hold down the lock and unlock buttons on the transmitter simultaneously until the receiver responds by locking the doors, then unlocking them.
Turn the ignition switch to the ON position to exit the transmitter programming mode.
