Seat Belt Retractors

The seat belt retractors on my wife's 2003 Mustang couple will no longer retract. The local Ford dealer wants close to $800 to replace them.
I can buy the retractors on-line for around $110 each.
Has anyone replaced these themselves? And, if so, how difficult was the job?
