Help with Air Conditioning Compressor

Hi, I have a 2000 cavalier z24 and the air does not work anymore. I figure its probably the compressor. My question is can you just remove the old compressor and install a new one, or is there something else I have to do. the car has the 2.4l engine in it. Thanks in advance for the help.
