I was unpleased with poor quality paint job that testors paint I sprayed on my 66 malibu so I went out and bought some Pine sol. I wasnt sure how much water to if to use if any, so I played it safe and did about a 50/50 water/pine sol mix. Its been in a plastic bucket for about 15 minutes and the paint is at a jelly like state and can be scrubbed off with brush. Im going to let it sit over night and scrub the paint off when I get back from school. So far Everthing is going good, just hope I dont wake up to a goey mess of plastic. :)

What type of paint did you use on the car (acrylic or enamel)? I heard that Easy-Off Oven works well with enamel paints but you may want to double check this one. I use 90% alchohol and a toothbrush to remove acrylic paints....works like a charm every time!

USE Castrol Clean strip degreaser. you can get it at all auto parts store! it is about 7 a gallon and strips all paints except tamiya, you can use easy off cleaner for tamiya. A car only needs about an hour in the castrol bath.

I have used CSC to remove EVERY type of paint, including Tamiya sprays. I leave mine in for about 4/5 days and it strips it all the way back to plastic. I then use a toothbrush w/CSC to clean out the trim lines around the windows and panel lines.

I saw castrol super clean at Fred Meyer but it was 8 bucks, they where out of the smaller bottle so I got Pine Sol. I woke up and Pine removed all the paint of the model with no damage to the plastic. There still a little paint in the panel lines though.

Did you get all of the panel lines clean of paint? And how did the pine sol work, any plastic damage or weaking going on?

The only part I couldnt get good was the panel lines. Also the body still had some "dry rough" paint from where the testors spray messed up me paint job. Im going to do it the right way now and spray it with Krylon primer after sanding the body and spray it in TS-12.

50/50 to be on the safe side.

I just used ammonia to strip my model... I either killed a lot of brain cells from the fumes or im mentally retarded.

It stripped everything in 1 min. I then just brushed over the whole thing and let it soak for 5 more mins just in case i was color blind (from the fumes).

It took out all the paint, from every crack but then i think Im going to have to go to the hospital :( :( :(
