This might seem like a retarded question, but how do you reset the Maintenance Required light on my 1992 honda accord? I dont get my car serviced at the honda dealership so its been on for a while now and i kinda gets on my nerves.

there should be a little like indentation right next to it that you can just stick your key in.

Did the trick sent by Accord93EX worked for you?

Does anyone know how to reset the Maintenance Required Light on a 2002 Accord? It's making me crazy and I'm not paying for a "scheduled maintenance" to have it shut off. Please help me! Thanks.

like evey1 said....stick your ignition key into the hole of your spedometer cover. there should be a square with a light thats red, yellow or green. when you reset it, it should turn green.

For newer honda's maint required light you must 1st press & hold the trip reset button with your left hand. Turn the ignition on with your right hand(do not start) & continue to hold the trip reset button until light shuts off. Very simple & it will come on about 7500 miles or so.

I have a 2000 Accord SE and i just got an oil change done, but the MAINT REQ'D light has come on. If i used the above mentioned method will that help to shut the light off? even in a 2000 accord SE or this for a specific model?

thanks

I have a 99 accord ex. My maintenance light was doing the blinking job after I turned the ignition, You know, at first it blinks and after a while it will just stay on. But I went and got an oil change and it went away.

The flashing maintance light in the lower left of the dash board can only be reset by;

1) leave the key in the off position

2) press the right button (used to reset the miles traveled) and while doing so, turn the key to the start position. (past the accessory position) and hold the button for 10 seconds.

3) after doing so, release the button, turn the car off then start the car. The light should not flash for another 3k miles or 3 mnths. which ever comes first.

This is a maintaince light that will flash for 10 seconds when the car is started letting you know that the time is close to service the car. When service is over due, the light will stay lit when the car is started.

This is for the 6th Generation Accords. (98-02)

Prior accords will have a slot they can stick a small key inside of to reset the maintaince gauge. Their gauge will turn from green to yellow to red.

I assume not too many people know this information. There are friggin over a 1000 views bbut only 9 responses :grinno:
