I had a lot of problems with the black ink on the decals... but I've tried to solve the problem in other way...

Seems that you have some very good reference of the real bike! Even the battery type seems to be correct. You mind telling how you draw and print those custom decals?

I don't know how it would look with the unions of the chain painted blue... Also another thing you can't see in the picture is that the chain protector is decaled with CF Modeler's decal. Also I still have to detail the chassis with rivets and other things, it isn't finished.

Cheers.

Need to turn those chain tensioners a bit there Roca, that chain will come off any second! Super detailing and I'm eager to see where you are heading with wheels and cowls.

Thank's Joel.
I know that, I must fix it the next weekend. It was my first photoetched chain, and well... all those chains are for M1 Ducatis and RC211V so I had to adapt it to the size of the R1.
Wheels will be the ones of the YZR500, but still don't know the scheme for the cowls... maybe blue... I always loved blue/black combination (blue for the body and black for parts like the chassis)

Cheers.

Hello,

Finally I had to remove the other chain and put the one of the Taira kit, I didn't liked the result of the other so I had to put a lot of effort on this.

I didn't wanted to put a lot of paint on the exhaust, I don't like to much colored so I decided to apply only slight coats. Also added small photoetched rivets and screws

Hope you like it.

Thank you mates! :)

If everything goes well, tomorrow I will start (and most probably finish) the setup and the addition of the airbox and its tubes.

Before to start with the radiator and the front forks, I have to take a look at the wires for the exup installation, because I've seen the electric valve on the instructions of the kit, so I will try to follow the wires and make the installation.

Another point, I forgot to add a part inside of the rear arm which is the reinforcement, lucky I didn't glued the rear suspension yet.

I've seen that this bike (which is the Taira version) doesn't have the yamaha logos, and those grey-white bands so if anyone have the decals or just have any idea of the scheme to do you could give me an idea. The first I have in mind is this http://media.photobucket.com/image/r1%20bodywork/ebaypaypalseller/AreYourShop/Yamaha/R1-0001/R1-0001-1/R1-0001-1-1.jpg I know it's seen to much times but I love the combination of these colours. I'm thinking on make a scheme to paint that white-grey band

Soon new pictures to come!

That chain is so great roca! Starts to add up now, this build.
I have a spare sheet for the factory R1 if you're interested, I have used a couple of the decals but none of the ones you mention.

Thank's Joel!!

Well I've seen on internet that the "square" or the side band logos on that R1 are more rounded than the others in the picture I post (modern logo) so I think I'm going to make those bands myself and paint them with the airbrush,
But I would need some Yamaha letters, please could you take a picture of your decals to see if I can use them? I'll pay for them

Bye!!

I'll try and get a pic of them asap. No need paying as they are left from my tuner build.

Thank you guys!

Finally I've installed the airbox with the tubes... Still I have to make the EXUP installation and I'm worried because I don't have more space to include the servomotor of the EXUP valve... anyway I will try to make it.

Hallelujah! That air box is so great, nice attachement to the tubes as well!
I personally think that the exhaust looks a bit stained, that it looks like small dots when close up. I would have liked an even faded paint better.

Hi again,
Here are the decals from the standard R1 kit. They will do for the scheme that you suggested earlier. All I have taken are the tank decals and one small yamaha lettering for the tail of the seat.

Hi Joel! Thank's for the picture I'll send you my address.

I agree with you about the exhaust pipe, but I think is caused by my mistake of not to dilute the paint, specially the metallic blue, the others are alclad and are very very thin so If you look at the exhaust on the previous page you will see that the only colour that have dots is the blue. I just applied a very soft coat with the airbrush while painting I didn't saw any dot but only small ones with the blue area, but those are just very small, remember that the pictures are made with the macro function. The pictures of the real bike are just like the number 3 or 6 and you can't see a lot of dots.

Another point can be the orange peel of the clear coat that is in the exhaust, which can also influence in the small dots.

Cheers
Roca.

Thank you Duncan!

Finally I have could install the EXUP valve... I'm a little bit sad because finally I couldn't add the EXUP servomotor due to the lack of space inside the bike... anyway I added the wires that goes inside.

That photoetched was the smallest I've ever used.

Looks great, those wires always raise the appearance. What do you most often do with them, just hide the other end or do you actually route them to the IRL connection point on the bike? I often tend to do the first...

Thank's Joel,

The only wires I hide at the end are the last two I added and I explained the reason, I don't have space to make and put there the servomotor of the EXUP valve.

All the other wires are connected between the "part" (sensors etc etc..), the connector and then to the main electric line, everything is routed up. That's not shown here but I've spend two months on the research and understand that bike, even using the reparation manual. And those wiring isn't finished... Still I have to add the lights installation...
Cheers.
