2001 beetle transmission problems...

Heres a long expensive story. Short form. Beetle had blown trans. Internals exploded, found the water pump was no good, over heated the engine so badly, set the trans into limp home mode. Owner didn't realize, kept driving.. Hence destroied the trans. Trans sent out and rebuilt by known company. Once back in the beetle, rev. Worked, the trans put into drive the vehicle just sat there...nothing, acted like park. Rev the rpm up 1400 the trans slammed into drive. If let in any forword gear it would continue.. Put into rev, start all over. Trans was sent back to the company, they sent back what they said was the trans rebuilt again, which they lied, was a completely different trans. We replaced the valve body, tcm, throttle body, accel. Pedal, valve body control ribbon, even removed the trans, for the third time and tore into it ourselves, finding a fiction disc missing in the k1 clutch pack.we have reset the adaptation 400 times, again same thing. No forword gears until the rpms are tickled an then the trans slams into drive, in any of the forword gears, not just drive. Just removed the trans for the fourth time and replaced the torque converter. Didn't change anything. Although when the trans is in limp home mode and shifted into drive, immediatly the car shifts and wants to go, no hesitation or need to rev up the rpm. Spec is 52 - 65 psi for operation, our trans needs 70 psi to engage. Explaining why limp home mode operates, because the trans is at 100 psi in that condition. I have nothing. Completely run out of ideas...help!

Sounds like your transmission/engine and ecm are not communicating and/or your timing belt is the issue. Before your at your wits end try the dealership. They may only need to link the two back up. Also, if you use any other transmission fluid other than VW fluid it will run like crap. Again, take it to the dealership if you want it to run right again.
