1997 k2500 engine replace

i have a 97 3/4 ton 4x4 long bed with the 5.7 vortec. i cracked the block. this is my daily driver, my trailer hauler, my huntin truck, and everything else. money IS an issue. what would be the best engine to put in? i would like the horsepower to haul the 10,000 lbs if i can get em without breaking the bank.
