Just did a head gasket replacment and car started fine. Little bit of lifter noise for about 1 minute, then smooth.
The shop said it was going to do a Fuel Pressure Regulater. I decided "not" to replace it unless it didn't run right. Well, the regulater was leaking so I went and purchased a new one. Would not start after replacing it.
No spark at this point.
I have gone through the "relearn" proceedure. Still no spark. Even moved my timing light to my working Burb to make sure that the light was working.
SES light is the only one on while cranking.
When in the on position; the battery, oil, SES, and sometime the Security lights are on. The Security light only is on sometimes.
Help!
Thanks.

NEVER MIND. It ended up starting, although I'm not sure why I wasn't getting spark for numerous tries.

Maybe a loose wire on the ICM or a grounding issue?

Double checked all wires more than once, then it just started. Turned it off and restarted multiple times without any problems.
Another question, if you are still out there.
I have a high pitches whining noise. Tube to my ear seems to indicate right around the Trottle Body.
I've had that part off and back on about 3 times today. I think that the whine is a vacume leak.
Question:
Can I re-use the gasket and just smear some gasket sealer on it?
Thanks,

That is weird that it just started to work with doing nothing to the car. You can but it is usually not a good idea it may work or it may not it is a crap shoot. It is recommended to replace the gasket.

Thanks Doc,
Since I'm laid off and I'm working on my daughters car (and she doesn't have much money) and I don't want to go to the store, I might try to just put some gasket stuff on there. I know the correct way to do it would be a new gasket.
Thanks for the replies.

Yes I hear you, it is getting real bad with jobs out there. Money is extremely tight. You have to do what you have to do.

Well guys, it runs. Sounds nice and doesn't leak anything. Sure wish I knew what the original problem was with antifreeze in the oil. I couldn't tell which gasket might have failed, or what might have caused the failure.
Anyway, thanks for the help.
Jim

Yeah these 3.4s are notorious for the lower intakes leaking.
Its either the gaskets or they arent being torqued properly.
And glad you got it fired back up !
Probly was the ICM or one of the 3 plug ins on it not making good contact. Like the crank sensors.
