Firstly sorry to admin people but I can only post a new thread in this section and not in the technical/how to section for some reason so please move to correct area if you need to.
I have a 1999 4.3l Vortec with an auto box and since I have removed the engine completely and disconnected the wiring I have now come up with the following problem and that is I can't move the auto shifter into 'N' to allow me to move the vehicle to somewhere else in the driveway. I did put a battery back on the car and connect the terminals but obviously one or a number of electrical block connectors have been un-plugged and I don't know which ones to reconnect. Once in neutral I can then winch it onto a trailer if need be.

Do it manually by disconnecting the shifter from the transmission, and putting the tranny in neutral by pulling the lever connected to the transmission. Be careful though and make sure the emergency brake works, or put something to make sure the truck doesnt start rolling.

Thanks for that, so simple when you stand back and think about it but I have been so wrapped up in swapping the motors over that I didn't even think of the easy option and was thinking too much.
Thanks again much appreciated.
