i hope someone can help me! i have a 99 jetta with the 6 disc in the trunk.
about a year ago, my radio started acting weird, i would try to play a cd and it would take a few min to start playing, and when it would, the screen on my radio would go blank.
about a month after that started happening, my CD player quit working all together. every time i press the CD button, the screen says "cd 0 tr 63" there are CDs loaded in there but it wont play them.
The radio also goes in and out as it pleases. i will have it on a station and the display will go blank, and i cannot turn the channel until it comes back on.
i've tried looking online but i haven't found any answers or anyone with a similar problem. Is my radio going to quit working all together or is there a loose wire or what?
any help would be much appreciated!
thanks,
Ashley (:

Hey Ashley,
Nicely described story about your radio problems. You need another radio. You can try to locate one at a salvage yard or ebay. Your other solution would be to change your radio out. If you do you will loose your cd controls and have to buy another cd player. Bummer!
You could also go back to your original radio through your dealership. The cost is about the same as buying a better after market radio, cd player and some new speakers. Hope this helps.
