2001 Cherokee sport in line-6, brake lines have fuzzy corrosion in various places and so do some other things, but not the body, what would you attribute this too?

Its because of the way the lines are coated with a solution that kind of oxidizes. The best way i can explain it is its kind of like the way those old ten hole wheels on the older model fords oxidize after years of salt from the roads. Only this kind kinda looks like gritty mold.

Yep, it could be just dirt that has adhered due to oil/road gunk/moisture.

If you take a soft brush it should come off easily; then keep an eye on it and it will probably come back after a time.

If it's corrosion rather than road grime, then it will be tough to remove and you'll see parts of the brake lines that are eroded/rusted away.
