Hi-
My 97 Voyager has now developed a new feature - random windshield wipers. They just come on whenever and make a couple of passes and turn off.
Any ideas? This used to happen like once a year and now is about once a week... Kinda freaky.
Thanks for any input.

Good luck and welcome to the GREMLINS in the wiper system. I have had this issue for years, I took the wiper motor out and cleaned the gunk out and that worked for a few months, but all is now back to waiting for the next edition of guess what the wiper are going to do. I do not know if there is a real solution and throwing money at various attempts to fix her is not cost effective. May be the motor, may be the multi-function switch, or none of the above. Most recently mine was acting up in cold weather and I thought Ah Ha I have you, since motor is more exposed to the cold than the switch I had the solution, but as Billy Mays once said, Wait, There's More and he was right, yesterday in +80 F weather the wipers started on their own made three passes and then went to bed (for a while).

Ghost wipers? An all too common problem. Mine have been doing it for years. BCM and multifunction switch are the most common culprits. This article doesn't talk specifically to your problem but, you may find something in it that can spark an idea: http://free-auto-repair-advice.blogspot.com/search/label/Caravan
