Expansion valve (Orfice)

92 Lincoln Continental;I Replaced the Air-Conditioner Compressor and the Dryer,The Expansion valve at Firewall
appears to be a smaller tube,not at all what the 3 inch Tapered Filter one with screen that I bought,I am having trouble getting the old one out;It must have came from Factory this way cause it has never been changed;

Question this smaller tube inside the High Press. tube.
Would an Ease out work for this?
I am at Stop until I find some Knowledge from a very good Mechanic;This little tube recessed about 1 and1/2 inch inside the Tube that goes to Evaporator.High Pressure tube;
