cam seal question

I am doing a front cam and crank seal job on a 94 Lebaron 3.0 Mitsu.

Installing the back bank cam seal and it went in too far. My question is, can I remove the valve cover to get to it? And...if I just put another seal in front of it, will it mess anything up?

Any help on this would be greatly appreciated.
