Hi,
I posted a thread about this before, and i got a few answers back but the problem is still happening.....
I have a 1994 cavalier 2.2 L, and I am getting a code 25: MAT sensor is shorted. what happens is when the car idles for a bit, the check engine light will come on along with the cooling fan and will eventually turn off anywhere from 10 seconds to 2 minutes.....
I replaced the engine temperature sensor and the MAT (or IAT sensor), but still get a check engine light. any suggestions?? Thanks

I've had a few that have had bad connectors. It was a lot easier to figure out with a scan tool that showed live data. Wiggle the connector would make the correct data drop in and out.

OK, so I took the car to the GM dealer and they told me it was the ECM, so I bought one and installed it and I have not had the check engine light come on and everything seems to be fine; in fact, the car runs much better and it is faster now. When i took the old one out, it wasn't a delco ECM; it was some cheap ass one, probably Made in China.
So, problem solved........for now lol.......
