I have a 98 Bravada. Last year I had the fuel pump replaced and it cost me over 700 dollars. I am experiencing similar problems. When I try to start the vehicle it just cranks it wont start unless I pour some fuel down into the carburator. Then it will start and run great. If I shut it off, it will start if I try to start it within an hour it will start. but if I wait several hours or the next morning the same thing happens. the fuel pump is about a year old. could it be the fuel regulator. I didnt replace the fuel filter. I measured the fuel pressure at the shrader valve behind the intake and got about 52 psi. Any suggestions. kjwills

Sorry KJ but the fuel pressure spec is 62 to 66psi. You might try to get it up with a new fuel filter but at idle or just a turn key test, there's not much flow to be restricted.

I agree, key on engine off, fuel pump running, pressure should be 60 to 66psi, and it must remain above 55psi for 3 to 5 minutes after the fuel pump shuts off. If it doesn't pass both parts of that test, there is a problem and more diagnosis is necessary to locate the problem.
