I bought a pair of Beetle seats one of which fits nicely in the Passenger side, however the other appears to be for another type of Beetle

After taking the old seats out a good time ago now i am left with a largeish spring that i assume fits the seat to the floor of the beetle

if someone could shed a light on where the spring fits to and how to find it
and whether i should have one for each seat would be great

as ever much appreciated for any help

The spring you have attaches to a drilled hole in the seat rails of the floor pan, and to a small hole in the seat frame.

The springs help the seats slide forward and back. They are used on both driver and passenger seats. New springs are available at California Import Parts (www.cip1.com (http://www.cip1.com)).
