84 mustang, 5.0 need help starting

I bought a 84 Mustang w/5.0 from a storage yard in Augusta, Ga. The car has had the ignition smashed out, and I got no keys. I got the engine spinning by jumping the solenoid, but I am trying to figure out how to juice the ignition so I can check out the drive train before I go dumping money into it. Any help is greatly appreciated.

They have a rod from the key switch to the ignition switch . Where they broke it you probably can reach the rod and push to start.
