NATS removal?

I want to bypass/remove the nats reciever on my 2005 x-trail 05. Or remove the immobiliser system?
I do not have a working transponder, therefore I am unable to drive it to a Nissan dealer to pay their ridiculous price just to get (another) new transponder key *programmed*. Nor do I want to. I'd rather remove the system altogether and just use my regular key.
Has anyone done this on the x-trail or similar?
