I'm looking for any one that can help lead me in the right direction on my 1999 sebring JXI 2.5L convertible. I bought my dream car last christmas and it had one problem the oil light was coming on at stops. So I took it to a mechanic that I knew from years ago, and he replaced the oil sending unit, timing belt, other 2 belts, valve cover caskets, spark plugs and wires. Drove car 50 miles and the distributor fried so replaced that with a rebuilt one. Then for 5 months the service engine soon (SRS) light was blinking sending multiple misfire code. Mechanic had no clue what the problem was. Took car to the ocean and after 2 hours freeway driving it started bucking and missing very badly and SRS light was on, turning on lights and heater fan seemed to make it run better. Drove the car back homeand took to my mechanic and again he was baffled cause the car will run just fine one minute and then start bucking and missing the next. Car was sending 1391 code, failing crankcase and/or camcase sensor I replaced crankcase sensor no difference. So I took car to Chrysler dealer and he double checked timing marks on belt and distributor and charged me $300. They took and looked at belt and distributor and crankcase sensor car runs great, 50 miles later same thing happens. I tuned it up with new NKG plugs and new wires, found #2 and #5 wires not properly seated at distributor, new pvc valve. Still not running right. Back to dealer they say its overcharging, so they replace altenator, car runs better, but now undercharging. They want to replace PCM. Help I'm bleeding money here! Can anyone give me some advise?
