98 Blazer - Loud Screeching Noise

I have a 98' Blazer and just had the transmission replaced recently. Not really sure if that has anything to do with it but the other day I went to take the truck (http://www.automotiveforums.com/vbulletin/#) for a drive when it started screeching loudly while I was driving down the road. All the electrical started dimming and it seemed like it was starting to stall. I was able to get it back home and figure out when it would start screeching. It seems to do it when I pull the shifter down between D and 3. I barely pull it out of D and down into 3 and it squeels like crazy. I've had conflicting ideas of what it could be.

I took the serpentine belt off and it's still producing the loud screeching noise when I pull the shifter through the gears.

Another interesting note is that I took the truck for a drive and held the shifter upwards and it did not make any noise at all. Could it be something in the steering column or could it be the transmission causing the problem?

It is leaking some kind of fluid from directly underneath the engine and it's also leaking fluid from the pumpkin ball in the rear. Might this also have something to do with it?

Any ideas?

Nothing seems to be low on fluid. I checked the oil, tranny fluid, and the brake fluid and they all seem to be fine. Not really sure what fluid is leaking. I tried to smell the fluids and really couldnt tell what it was. Maybe these pictures can help:

The second picture is just to show the color of the fluid. It has grass and everything else in it from sitting on the ground.

Take it back to who ninstalled the transmission and haqve them check it out.

On fluid leakage clean engine and transmission all off and watch where the fluid is leaking.
Fluid leakage will not cause noise unless real low on fluid or fluid and oil or coolant on fan belt.
You need to find where the noise is from.
Engine and or stuff on it or transmission /or drive line or wheels/ brakes or 4W or rear end

Then figure out what color the fluid leakage is.
Black is engine oil red can be transmissionor Power steering.
Yellow /orange or green can be coolant.
They make a fluid leak check dye that you can use to put in the fluid to aid in fiunding leaks.
