A little synopsis of my experience with rust repair. I did not have access to welding tools nor could I afford to have the work done so i decided to do it this way. I used the rust repair panels from lake erie trading post. or rustrepair.com.
In order to bond the panel, I cut away the old rust and stripped the paint to bare metal. I used panel bonding adhesive from 3M and then affixed the panel using screws until the bond cured. Finally I used some tiger hair to smoth everything over. It looks way better than rust huh? total cost for all parts was less than 200.00. :grinyes: I obviously cut the repair panel to fit the affected area. I unfortunately used a cheap egay paint kit to spray the car. She will be getting a professional job this summer.

Not bad dude. Looks pretty decent!
I used sheetmetal, a pop-riviter and bondo to fix the rusty body panels on my old crx. You probably don't remember it though. It was neon green and then grey primer. I replaced the rusty sunroof panel with sheetmetal the same way.

I sold my crx for $1,000. It just became more hassle than convenience...
