Anyone know if stock rims from a 04GTP would fit on GP's 97-03?

I'm pretty sure the bolt patterns are going to be the same (115x5)

But are the offsets the same?

Will the wheels fit without hitting a caliper?

Thanks!

I've been wanting to do the exact same thing. I really like the look of the '04 rims. Tim, if you get those on, make sure to post a pic! When the tires I have now are done, I'm really going to see if I can go that route as well.

For sure man! Problem is, I found a set of chrome 04+ GTP rims on craigslist I liked from wisconsin. The lady's husband worked in st. paul (about an hour away from me). I decided to buy them and told her I would be out towards the end of the week (last week). She replied back to my email (rims are sold). Ahh Well! They were good clean no rust or corrosion and included tires for 200.00. It happens I guess.

$200!?!?!? Aw man!! That sucks! Not to grind the knife in your ribs, but that was a killer deal. I've never seen one that good. Not to worry though- there's ALWAYS a deal.

yeah I know. only 2 of the tires had only 3/32's of thread left and 2 of them were leaking air. So all 4 needed replacement. I'd still take the rimmies for 200. But its too late now. Oh well!

Well that's not as bad as I thought then.

What did you think of the wheels on the GXP you looked at Tim? Forged 18" Alcoa aluminum. :grinyes:

Oh! Oh! Interesting you brought up the old lady. Mine fell in love with mine so now we have to get her one. His and hers. I'm heading up to Salt Lake City tomorrow to buy this one for her. Will be back on Saturday with it.

Two Bob?

Wow! Thats all I can say. Wow!

How is the MPG with the Displacement on Demand Motor? The dealer seemed to think it would be as good as I was getting with my GTP if not better.

He also thought insurance would be cheaper. Not the case.

Don't even lie like that! Bob will kick you off here for me. All I have to do is say the word. :smooch:

Tblake I was at the salvage yard the other day, they had the chrome rims you wanted. But unfortunately the price was $450. Let me know if you want me to poke around down here.

Thanks for the info! 450 is a little steep, and then shipping would be another 200 or so.

I better keep looking around here. Thanks!

That price was also with the tires. The tires looked to be in very good condition.

Yup two. Tim, I am amazed too.

Just got in from Salt Lake City with it last night. On mileage around 17 city. The trip back to El Paso (880 miles) came out to 24 mpg overall average. GM calls it Active Fuel Management (AFM). EPA is 16/25.

24 eh? That's what I'm averaging right now! 50/50 city/hwy So w/o the AFM, I'm doing pretty good?

Hmmmm, I'll talk it over with the wifey and see what she says.

What's the verdict? :)

Sorry I missed you. I purchased the GXP from Jerry Seiner Chevrolet/Cadillac. The real test drive was driving back home and no issues noted. I had the opportunity to stop off at Moab and the Arches National Park since it was along the way. That place was really awesome. The rock formation below cracked me up. :uhoh:......

Jerry Seiner eh? Was it the one on 106th So? If so, that's where I got my GTP!!

Yeah, that rock is called Manhood Rock. j/k. Aside from the imagination-inducing formations, :cwm27: Arches is gorgeous.

The one in the middle at South 500 West right off I15. For a GM dealership they look like straight shooters and have a nice operation. Also, had the chance to see a new Corvette Z06 and ZR1 sitting on the showroom floor. :grinyes:

Ah, okay. Yeah I know the one you're talking about. Jerry Seiner really was good to work with and they gave me a great deal on my grand prix. We bought our Jeep from a place called La Point Ford (now out of business - surprise, surprise) and they screwed us over pretty bad (Any Larry H. Miller dealership is also one to avoid like the plague). If possible, I will definitely buy my next car from Jerry Seiner.
My wife and I saw one of those ZR1's in a magazine and I told her that if my faithfulness were ever to be in question, that a ZR1 would be her only suspect. :lol2:

I'm not a fan of GM dealerships but Jerry Seiner is the exception. Yeah I heard the Larry Miller operation leaves alot to be desired. They had a '08 GXP there too but it was in poor shape for the cost.
