Ok so the light that comes on in my dash when I put the car in gear has somthing to do with my drl.I changed the relay in the fuse panel but still no drl.I found a ceramic resister on the side of the rad supprt area on the passengers side is this the module?MY HIGH AND LOW BEAMS BOTH WORK AND ALL OTHER LIGHTS WORK FINE .Any suggestions other than disconnecting them They have to work where I live or they will pull my car in for a saftey check.thanks its an 03 cavalier.2.2 ecotech

Check to make sure your emergency brake is all the way down, maybe tighten it up, or adjust your back brakes.

What does this light look like?

Also, don`t have a clue on your state`s regs, but could you not just turn your low beams on anytime you drive? I know it`s different bulbs lighting up, but it`s still two forward facing bulbs...... anyone have an opinion? or a thought?

Get a wiring diagram for your car and check that the relay has power and ground in the right spots. Also make sure the resistor isn't burned open, should maybe be around 6 ohms? Just guessing there, might be close...

If I were you, I would just use the low beams during the day. I can't imagine a governing body dumb enough to require a certain method of having the lights on. Well, I guess I can... But the point of the law is to make the vehicle more visable for safety, having the low beams on does that, and they are actually a bit brighter than the DRLs. Not suggesting you don't follow the law exactly, but I follow the intent of the law, if it's right. Wear a seatbelt? Nah, I just won't run into anything :)

you're looking to turn them on, and am trying to eliminate the DRL's for my HID's to work fine:(

thanks guys I figured it out .it was the white resistor on the passengers side that was broke and no more good.I just swapped it with anouther 1 and they work perfect.Ps it not that I like these things its what they say at the saftey check that makes them so important.I do aways turn on my headlights anyway just that the govenment says they have to work.
